NEET Preparation for Medical Courses
NEET (UG) is one of the toughest medical entrance examinations conducted in India. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate (MBBS/BDS/Ayush Courses) every year. As per Government of India, it is a mandated requirement to qualify NEET Exam to study medical courses in India and abroad.

NEET-UG Exam Eligibility Criteria
- NEET is mandatory for Indian/Overseas candidates for admission to a medical University in India.
- Age Limit: General- 17 to 25 years (on or before 31st December of the same year) SC/ST/OBC/PWD – 17 to 30 years
- All India Quota seats: Foreign nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), NRIs, Person of Indian Origin (PIO) is entitled to the reservation under 15% All India Quota seats. J & K candidates are not eligible for 15% All India Quota seats.
- Qualification: The candidate who is appearing or has appeared in the 12th may apply for NEET. Their admission is confirmed only after clearing the 12th exam.
- -Passed B.Sc. with any two of the Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Bio-technology from an Indian University.
- -Passed the first year of the University’s three years’ degree course in PCB
- Number of Attempts – Candidates can attempt NEET as many times as they wish until they attain the maximum age limit.
What are the minimum marks required for each category?
- 50% – General
- 40% – SC/ST/OBC

Candidates are required to apply online on www.ntaneet.nic.in. After login, fill your name, e-mail id, gender, mobile no., and academic details. Upload the supporting documents as mentioned below.

NEET Admit Card 2022
Candidates can receive Admit Card by online mode only.
- The candidate has to login on NTA’s website and downloads the Admit Card.
- An e-mail containing Admit Card PDF is sent from NTA to every candidate’s mail id.

NEET 2022 Answer Key
The answer key can be viewed by logging in NTA’s official website with Application Number and Password.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will commence online counseling for the seat allocation to the NEET successful candidates. The counseling is held in 2 rounds.

DGHS is responsible for seat allotment under All India Quota and deemed and central universities.
State Counseling Authority looks forward to seat allocation on State quota seats for domiciled candidates in State Government College. Counseling will include two to three rounds. The same authority also counsels for admission to private medical colleges. There will be 3-4 rounds in counseling.
The last round is followed by a mop-up round. Candidates who are not allotted seats in 2nd round counseling can participate in the mop-up round.

What is NEET?
The NEET is a test for admission to the respected medical and dental universities in India. In addition, the exam allows you to enter AYUSH.
How many seats are there in NEET?
NEET-UG takes place every year for around 66,000 seats of private and government institutions.
Do all the medical colleges of India accept NEET score?
All the medical colleges of India accept NEET scores except All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER).
What is NEET-UG & NEET-PG?
While NEET (UG) is a nationwide test conducted for admission to MBBS and BDS courses, NEET-PG is mandatory for postgraduate courses in medicine, surgery, and dental.
When was NEET started?
NEET was proposed in 2012 but was put in action a year later. The first NEET exam was conducted on May 05, 2013 for both UG and PG courses. The test was canceled by the NTA (National Testing Agency). National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is now organized annually from 2016. The exam replaced CBSE’s All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT).
What is the difference between NEET & AIPMT?
- AIPMT was organized into Prelims and Main whereas NEET is one paper test.
- AIPMT accounts for only 15% of seats across the various states other than Andhra Pradesh, J & K, and Telangana. NEET is a single unified entrance exam covering a large spread. It covers 100% of seats across the country.
